Zepol Releases 2011 U.S. Port Report

Zepol's "2011 U.S. Port Report" provides a compelling view on how U.S. ports have been performing in the last year. Each port profile provides detailed information on recent trends, key importers, top carriers, and more.

3 Key Insights Found in the Report:

  1. Based on TEU volume, 18 of the top 20 U.S. ports showed positive growth from 2010 to 2011.
  2. China is the number one country of origin for three-fourths of the ports on our list.
  3. The Port of Jacksonville posted the largest percent increase in inbound TEUs, rising over 25% in the last year.

  1. The Port of Baltimore increased TEUs imported by 10% from last year, while the Port of Seattle saw a decrease of 13%.
  2. Ranked second on our Master Carrier list, Mediterranean Shipping Company posted a 17% increase in TEUs shipped from last year, and is one of the few carriers that exhibited an increase.
  3. The value of imports from Saudi Arabia rose 46% this year over last year due to the increased price of oil.
