Below is the trend of the last thirteen months showing total TEU volume and shipments as seen in Zepol's monthly vessel import press releases:

Methodology:

Zepol's data is derived from Bills of Lading entered into the Automated Manifest System. This information represents the number of House manifests entered by importers of waterborne vessel goods. This is the earliest indicator for trade data available for the previous month’s import activity. The data excludes shipments from empty containers, excludes shipments labeled as freight remaining on board, and may contain other data anomalies.

Zepol recently attended and sponsored the annual conference for the Transportation Marketing and Sales Association for the second year running. The conference was an opportunity for Zepol to visit with customers, prospects, and media partners in the transportation industry. In addition, daily sessions addressed industry trends, the best practices for marketing and sales, and provided insights into how to work effectively as a team. The conference was a huge success with a great turnout of transportation professionals. Zepol looks forward to attending and sponsoring again next year! Click the logo below to learn more about TMSA.

For the first time in history, monthly land trade between the countries participating in the North American Free Trade Agreement reached over $80 billion. Over the years there has been fluctuation in land trade, which includes truck and rail shipments, as well as other modes of transportation; however, there haven’t been trade values that have reached over $70 billion since October 2010. The graph below displays the changes that have occured in trade by land from 2007 through 2011. The trade by value via land has increased 16% since March of last year, and 58% since March 2009. This increase in trade is beneficial for all parties and we hope to see a continual upward trend in the future.
